Hello!
I hope everyone had a great, long weekend! I also hope the snow has moved on for good this time. There are a few things I want to make you aware of...
- Students will no longer take home their Jag Books each night. I am giving every student a take home folder that will contain their behavior chart, reading books, homework, etc. From now on, be on the lookout for a folder every day, and the Jag Book once a month. I'm sorry to change the routine again. This is one of the struggles of a first-year teacher!
- I changed my website so that you can now print the spelling words, newsletters, or homework if your student ever leaves it at school.
- If you aren't already a member of the Homeroom app/website, please let me know. I can send you a private invite. Homeroom allows me to upload and share pictures of what we are doing in the classroom.
Spring Fling
I encourage everyone to come out Friday night, the 13th, for our Spring Fling. Be sure to stop by our classroom for the silly photo booth!
Book Fair
Students can begin purchasing items from the book fair on Tuesday, March 10th. We will preview the book fair on Wednesday. To support the library and our book fair, students are allowed to dress up and invite his/her family members on the following days.
Wednesday - Dress like a pirate or mermaid.
Thursday - Dress like you're going to the beach, and invite your mom to visit the book fair with you!
Friday - Wear ocean blue and, invite your dad to visit the book fair with you!
Jump Rope for Heart
If your students signed up for Jump Rope for Heart, they will jump next Monday, the 16th, at 1:00 p.m.
Leadership Day
On March 25th there will be many visitors in our classroom! They have come from around the country to see the leaders in our school. The entire 2nd grade will be singing The Climb for all visitors in the morning. Later, when the visitors are in our room, students will present a presentation on how we use the 7 Habits in the classroom. Every student has a part in this presentation. If your child has a speaking part please allow them to practice at home as much as possible. This is completely student led! I am very excited to watch my students put this together. They are going to do great!
Engineering Unit
Our science unit on engineering is coming up soon. Please continue sending the following items to school! We need as much as possible by March 25th.
-paper towel/toilet paper rolls
-yogurt cups
-tissue boxes, cereal boxes, cracker boxes (any chipboard items)
-straws
-egg cartons
Thanks for all you do!
